About EAA
Effective Altruism Amsterdam is a community of students and professionals who want the good they do to actually add up.
We are the effective altruism group for Amsterdam. The student side is based around the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit; the professionals side is for people already in work. The two groups run their own things and plenty of things together.
What we mostly do is talk — carefully, and with people who will push back. About which problems in the world are largest and most neglected, about what the evidence actually supports, about what any of it means for the choices in front of us. And then we try to act on the answers: careers, donations, projects, research.
You do not have to be sold on any of this to come along. Curiosity and a willingness to change your mind are the only real entry requirements.
