Everything we have planned. Subscribe on Luma to get an email when we add something new.
What we run
Discussion evenings
Our bread and butter. A topic, a short reading beforehand if you have time, and a couple of hours of proper argument. Usually Tuesday evenings at UvA Roeterseiland.
Speaker talks
Researchers, charity staff and people working directly on the problems we discuss, followed by questions and usually a drink.
Workshops
Practical sessions: career planning, deciding where to give, forecasting, applying to jobs and programs.
Socials
Dinners, drinks, walks and games nights. No agenda, no reading, just the community.
Retreats and conferences
Weekends away with EA Netherlands, and EAGx conferences — including editions in Amsterdam. We help people apply.
Program sessions
The Introductory Program and follow-on reading groups run on their own schedule. See programs.
Coming for the first time?
Pick anything on the calendar — you do not need to have read anything, and you do not need to know anyone. Discussions and socials are the easiest entry points. If it helps to know someone will look out for you, email us beforehand and we will make sure someone says hello.
Do I need to register?
Registering on Luma helps us plan numbers and lets us tell you if anything changes, but nobody is turned away for not registering.
Do I have to be a student?
No. We have a student branch and a professionals branch, and most events are open to both. Anything student-only or professionals-only is marked as such on the calendar.
What language are events in?
English, unless an event says otherwise.
Does it cost anything?
Almost everything is free. Where there is a cost — a dinner, a retreat — we will say so up front, and money should never be the reason you cannot come. Ask us quietly and we will sort it out.
Are the venues accessible?
Tell us what you need and we will confirm the specifics for the venue before you come.
Never miss one
Events are announced on the calendar, on Instagram and in our WhatsApp group.
